I have been on a listserve before and I like my wiki which I guess is pretty much a blog.
AWARENESS: One thing I really like about this class is that is making me aware of so much that is available out there in the world of technology. The possibilities are tremendous. EXPLORATION AND FILTLRATION:It is fun to explore the many things that are available and see what could actually be useful to me. The one I liked the best was SKYPE. LEARNING: I went to SKYPE, established an account, and explored all the options. I had used skype with my home desk top computer when my daughter was in Africa but we didn't have a web cam. Still, SKYPE made our lives so much more pleasant when she was so far away. I think another reason I wanted to use SKYPE was because I am going to be a grandma in September and I want to be really familiar with SKPE before the baby cames. I would also like to get the rest of my family hooked up so we communicate "almost" in person.
APPLICATION: I emailed Judy, one of my partners, and asked if she'd like to use SKYPE and she thought it would be fine. I called Lester and he agreed as well. We could all be available on Friday at 7:00 PM. We agreed that Lester would SKYPE me on Thursday evening so we could work out the bugs and then one of us would SKYPE Judy on Friday. So, Friday evening I experienced my first video call. HOW COOL!! I met Kit, Lester's wife, and his two dogs. They met my husband, Charlie, and my snake, Babe. We had a fun conversation! I will be using SKYPE in the future.
